This entry is dedicated to infinitenights, who commented, forlornly, on my recap of Man Meat Movies of 2011, that she had seen precisely NONE of them! That made me sad and I didn't want it to happen again. So I went through all of 2012's upcoming movie and found the most likely candidates for NEXT YEAR's list, also some photos, some of which are crazy and I did not alter.

Looking ahead to 2013... we have Star Trek 2, Fast Six, a new Chronicles of Riddick movie... Things already seem hopeful!

Hey dudes. Just popping in to drop off my 2011 movies list, which I'll be adding to throughout the year! I finished 2010 with 124 new movies, or so--I know I'm probably forgetting some, 'cause as I was going through it today I remembered about eight that I hadn't included previously. I'm sort of considering keeping track of old movies I watch this year, too, but that might be too much to keep up with. WE'LL SEE.

100 NEW MOVIES IN 2010

Right, so I won this game in 2009 with a total of 106 movies by year's end! Whee. The full, final list from last year is here. My 2009 was characterized by a LOT of new theater movies (more so than an average year for me, I feel), as well as weird things from members of the various Star Trek and Basterds families. Good times. So I guess I'll try it again this year, WHY NOT. My rule is basically just that the movies can be from any year, as long as I am seeing them for the first time in 2010. As I write this, it's only January 2nd and I've already seen 4 old movies (two of them Tarantino), but ~you shall never know about those ones. Unless I, you know, talk about them elsewhere. Which I probably will and probably already have.

I GOT INTO BUTT NUMB A THON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is: "a 24 hour film annual celebration programmed by Harry Knowles (of Ain't it Cool News) of upcoming films and films from the past, attended by a hand picked group of film lovers, half from the Austin and Central Texas area...and the other half from around the country and world."

There is a mix of new/exclusive premieres (last year they had Shutter Island, Kick-Ass, and Avatar before their release dates; also Pan's Labyrinth before it came out) and old cult classics (Plan 9 From Outer Space was I believe the first movie they ever played). Typically thousands of people apply (idk the exact numbers) for the 200 or so seats in the Alamo Drafthouse.

So as I do when I kinda like something, I take it too far and spend way too much time on trying to figure out every little thing about the movie and sometimes I watch bootleg copies of the movie with the google maps window open at the same time so I can figure out the exact filming locations and then maybe I spend the next day walking around downtown Los Angeles for five straight hours (oh god guys it's so hilly how did it get so hilly) just so I can be satisfied with the knowledge of I was there too.

On a completely unrelated and sane note, here are some pictures I happened to take that happen to match up with some of the filming locations of Inception.

Hello again, people! I got distracted and was k-kinda busy, but here is part two of the World Cup spam! [Part one is here if you missed it!] These groups have some really good ones. Oh and just so you know, I was working until 7am last night and may have read a "Psycho" Mary Sue fan fiction at some point in the past couple of days, so my commentary may get a little cracky. But whatever, the important part is that there are shirtless men herein so let's get to it:

So, that's it! I am super tired but also super excited for this impending epicness in FOUR DAYS. At some point (either before or during) I'll put together a spam of all the hottest hotties who will not be playing ;___; so while you are watching the games, you can impress everyone by lamenting how certain people/teams would bring so much more had they not been injured/left behind/disqualified. They will think you are super smart, but really you are just perverted. Hooray!

Hello citizens of the world! You know what starts in about a week? The answer is the WORLD MOTHERFUCKING CUP STARTS IN ABOUT A WEEK, GODDAMN. And as such, I'm doing another one of my ~guides~. (see past guides here.) The World Cup website didn't have standardized portraits this year though, so instead of categories I decided to just present to you the HOTTEST HOTTIES in their HOTTEST forms. And for the most epic hotties, I put together separate picspams just for them. Basically what I'm saying is soccer is just the best guys, just the best. Mostly I like doing these so I at least know a couple of players on each team, know who to look forward to in a starting lineup, and which players are so smoking hot that it's actually worth watching an otherwise unimportant game in the hopes of catching a glimpse of them. I have all the pictures done, but this commentary is ~exhausting~ so I'm giving you Groups A through D tonight. HERE YOU GO:

Given that gleeful_t and I already living the lyrics to that song, and we both appreciate adorable things, it is no surprise that we had long ago incorporated the signs into a sort of choreography whenever we hear the song. A visit this week by c_of_exuberance solidified that fact. It's dance canon now.

So I had to write a haiku for the poster. I think he just gave it to the first 12 people, but I'm pretty sure mine would have won based on its poetic quality:
